Hydroxycut Black Review

Labels: , , , , ,

Check out my own personal results with Plexus:

What is Plexus?

Give me two minutes of your time and I’ll tell you whether Hydroxycut Black actually works. We examined the ingredients, side effects, clinical research, and customer service. Additionally, we analyzed user reviews and comments. Then, we summarized and condensed it to give you the info you need.

What is Hydroxycut Black?

First off, Hydroxycut Black is a fat burner containing caffeine, robusta coffee extract, alpha lipoic acid, yohimbe extract, black caraway extract, purslane extract, arugula extract, and chicory extract. You take two liquid-capsules twice daily, meaning one bottle lasts about two weeks.

Hydroxycut was introduced to the market in 1995 by Iovate Health Sciences. You can shop for the supplement through trusted retailers and local grocery stores. We like the company’s longevity and the fact that you can easily find the brand, but read on…

Ingredients – “Too Many Stimulants?”

The first thing we were concerned about is the number of Hydroxycut Black ingredients that are stimulants. “These are common in weight-loss supplements because they help speed the body up a bit to burn more calories. But, there can be too much of a good thing,” said our Research Editor.

One reviewer said, ”It has as much as caffeine as 2.5 cups of coffee in one serving (2 capsules).

Some saw results without any mention of stimulants.

“I can honestly say I saw some major benefits from using this,” said another.

“This is not a magic pill, but if used as suggested, the results will speak for themselves,” said another.

Side Effects – “A Concern?”

We found multiple reports from customers talking about Hydroxycut Black side effects. “Unfortunately, this product, just made me jittery and short tempered. In my opinion, this product does not work as well as the regular Hydroxycut,” said one user.

“I felt very wired up. Almost light headed. I tried it for two days and discontinued,” commented another.

“This product, just made me jittery and short tempered,” stated a dieter.

Many used it without side effects.

“Used for a long time with no side effects,” said one dieter.

Another dieter said, “After 2 weeks of use, I’m seeing some great results.”

Over the years, we’ve found it takes a small thing, like side effects, could reduce the chances of long-term success. If people notice adverse reactions when using Hydroxycut Black, why should they continue?

The Science – “Solid?”

When we visited the official website, we found one study showing people lost weight. After a bit of digging, the information related to one ingredient and didn’t specifically state Hydroxycut Black would help with weight-loss. At DietSpotlight, science is critical. But if the science doesn’t pertain to the product, we have an issue.

The Bottom Line – Does Hydroxycut Black Work?

Should you race out for a bottle of Hydroxycut Black? Well, we like the addition of caffeine and all the ingredients are listed on the official website, but we are hesitant about this one because the research available doesn’t support the weight-loss claims. Plus, the reports of side effects and multiple stimulants are concerning.

If you want to shed those extra pounds, we suggest going with a weight-loss supplement containing some clinically-tested ingredients and no reports of negative side effects.

Among the best products we’ve seen in 2016 is one called Leptigen. It’s made with a blend of clinically-tested ingredients which have been shown to help support weight-loss efforts. We found customers talking about seeing great results and no one is chattering about adverse reactions.

Plus, the makers of Leptigen are giving a Special Trial Offer to new customers. It’s a vote of confidence we like to see.

Pruvit Review

Labels: , , , , ,

Check out my own personal results with Plexus:

What is Plexus?

You may be surprised by what I say in this Pruvit review. We at DietSpotlight dug deep and conducted a thorough investigation, examining the side effects, ingredients, clinical studies and overall customer-service quality. We additionally read through all kinds of user comments and feedback from around the web. At this point, we compacted all of the facts and details to give you the important information you need.

What is Pruvit?

First of all, Pruvit ingredients are MCT powder, beta hydroxybutyrate, malic acid, natural flavor, caffeine and stevia. This supplement drink provides 85 percent of your daily calcium. It’s claimed to help elevate blood ketone levels, suppress appetite, encourage fat loss, boost energy levels and increase strength. It’s available in orange dream flavor. In order to use it, you simply add one packet to 12-16 ounces of cold water, and consume it with or without food.

It looks like Pruvit was first released in 2015. The product is available online directly from the official website, and can also be purchased on Amazon. This drink provides some vitamins and minerals. Also, it’s supposed to promote longevity and cellular regeneration, but read on…

Side Effects – “Is It Safe?”

The first concern we have is Pruvit side effects. “There are several customer complaints of adverse effects from this product. These unpleasant reactions include headache, jitteriness, insomnia, upset stomach and diarrhea,” says our Research Editor.

One customer stated, “This product was absolutely awful! Taste was good, but I took 1/2 a packet and 15 hours later I was still wired and jittery from it. My heart was racing and I truly was concerned for my health. Never again.”

But, not all users experienced side effects. One person said, “Seems okay so far. Not convinced it does much though.”

“No bad effects. But not seeing any weight-loss with this stuff,” revealed another person.

Minimal Results – “Another Concern”

Judging from the customer feedback posted on the web, some people are not seeing solid results with Pruvit supplements. In fact, one user posted, “Did not decrease my weight at all. For some reason I was craving sugar. This was after 8 days of using.”

Then again, a different customer commented, “It tastes pretty good. I think it gives you a slight boost.”

“I use it before workouts. Helps with energy. But it could definitely be cheaper,” said another individual.

According to our research, if there is a specific part of a weight-loss drink or diet program that is quite concerning or difficult (side effects, minimal results, low Amazon star rating) the chances of long-term success are not very good. This means if Pruvit does lead to unpleasant adverse effects in a lot of people, this could be a real problem.

The Science – “Any At All?”

Well, there is some “science” presented on the official website for Pruvit. However, the research is certainly not very convincing. For example, it’s claimed that this product improves belly fat loss. However, each serving contains seven grams of saturated fat. This is concerning. At DietSpotlight, we like to see some solid studies that support the diet product we’re reviewing.

The Bottom Line – Does Pruvit Work?

Now the moment you’ve been waiting for. This is our bottom line on Pruvit. To begin, we like that this supplement drink provides some vitamins and minerals. It’s also nice to see that some customer testimonials are posted on the website. But we do have reservations about this product because some users have complained of side effects. Also, we’re concerned about the minimal results some people have mentioned. Then there is the $389 (75 servings) price tag, which is steep.

If you’d like to drop more weight, then we encourage you to select a product that is affordable, does not cause any unwanted side effects and is backed by all sorts of encouraging user reviews.

Among the best products we’ve seen in 2016 is one called Leptigen. Its formula is a proprietary blend of four ingredients, which have been shown in published clinical research to help accelerate fat loss and boost metabolism. We can’t find any user complaints online, and comments around the web indicate people are seeing great results.

The makers of Leptigen are so confident in their product they’re offering a Special Trial Offer, which is very encouraging.

Muscle Juice Review

Labels: , , , , ,

Check out my own personal results with Plexus:

What is Plexus?

The results of my research into Muscle Juice were somewhat surprising. We took the time to write a thorough review, focusing closely on the ingredients, side effects, level of customer service and scientific research. Plus we read hundreds of user comments that are posted online. Finally, we summed up all of the facts and feedback we found to give you the info you need.

What is Muscle Juice?

First off, Muscle Juice ingredients include whey protein, micellar casein, milk protein, omega 3 fish oil, amino acids, egg protein, protease, lactase, canola oil and calcium casienate. This powder formula is added to 18 ounces of water or milk (four scoops). It should be consumed once in the morning, and then an hour after your workout. This supplement is claimed to promote muscle gains, decrease downtime and improve overall performance at the gym.

The company behind Muscle Juice is Ultimate Nutrition. This supplement has been on the market since at least 2011 and is available in flavors such as banana, chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and cookies n cream. Both women and men can use it and there are some positive user comments posted online, but read on…

Steep Price – “Can You Afford It?”

The first concern was the high cost of Muscle Juice. According to our Research Editor, “The price of Muscle Juice is $94.95 on the official website. Each 11.1-pound container provides 19 servings. When you consider that this will only last for about 10 days, this protein supplement is quite pricey.”

One customer said, “To be honest, I really can’t afford this product. Why so expensive?”

On the other hand, a different user said, “Not bad. I’ve tried several of these, and this one is pretty decent.”

“Price is a bit high, but seems to work okay,” commented another person.

Unpleasant Taste – “Uh Oh”

Another concern we have is the taste of Muscle Juice ingredients, which some people have complained about. One person stated, “Not feeling the flavor at all. It actually tastes like pure sugar.”

But, not all users dislike the taste of Muscle Juice shakes. One individual posted, “Taste is not bad, but has a syrup taste compared to Cytosport muscle milk.”

“I do like the flavoring okay, but that alone does not do enough to make me order it again,” mentioned another customer.

The intensive research we’ve done has shown if there is a certain aspect of a fitness supplement or protein shake that is very bothersome (steep price, unpleasant taste, side effects) the odds of lasting success are not good. Therefore if Muscle Juice is too pricey for many people to afford, this could be a deal breaker.

The Science – “Solid?”

Here at DietSpotlight, we need to see some solid research that supports the supplement we’re investigating. In regards to Muscle Juice, this shake does contain a serious amount of protein (56 grams). This should help with muscle building and weight gain. It also contains 1,020 calories per serving. Even if the supplement did produce results, there’s no research to support the claims.

The Bottom Line – Does Muscle Juice Work?

So, should you whip out your credit card and order Muscle Juice? Well, we like that this supplement is available in several flavors. We also appreciate that it contains a serious amount of protein per serving. No one mentioned any Muscle Juice side effects either. On the other hand, we are concerned about the actual taste of this shake. Not to mention, the cost of this product is quite high.

If you really want to build lean muscle mass, improve workout performance and boost vitality, we suggest you go with a product that sells at a reasonable price, does not have an unpleasant taste and is supported by many positive user reviews.

Among the best products we’ve seen in 2016 is one called Pronabolin. It uses nine potent ingredients. Some of which have been clinically tested and are shown to help increase muscle growth, improve workout performance and boost testosterone levels. There are no negative user reviews on the web, and the customer comments we found online show people are seeing solid results.

The makers of Pronabolin are so sure about their product they’re offering every customer a 120-day money-back guarantee and multiple-bottle discounts.

How A Garden May Put Meat On A Table

Labels: , , , ,

guest post by Kim B

For months, I have been wondering, just how in the world am I going to put meat on the table if, at some point, I have no attractants for deer or other creatures. I spent hours trying to figure out how I was going to do it and I thought that it was going to be impossible.

That is until I was in the garden the other day and I began to think about the deer that, when I do not put out Irish Spring and other soaps to repel them, come through my land. My mind kept focusing on the fact that when they are not repelled and therefore find a reason to hang around, such as foraging…

Google is testing a purple “Ad” label in Maps that matches the purple pin noting the location of the advertiser on the map itself. The purple pin distinguishes it from the red organic pins.

Ross at Paid Insights noticed the change on Maps searches on mobile and desktop in the Denver area

It’s not clear how long this test has been running, but I realized that I had actually seen this last week, but hadn’t noticed the color change. Here’s a screenshot I captured on April 20 while looking into the news that Google is now placing ads in the Local Finder as well as Maps.

purple ad label in Google Maps

I’m consistently seeing the purple label in Maps on desktop and Android, but not iOS. Google also began testing green “Ad” labels in the main search results a couple of weeks ago. That test appears to be running in most major markets at this point.

14 Drought-Resistant Vegetables To Plant If You Rarely Get Rain

Labels: , , , ,

14 Drought-Resistant Vegetables To Plant If You Rarely Get Rain

In many parts of the country, a drought-resistant garden is more than just a neat idea; it’s a necessity. Choosing the right combination of vegetables, paying attention to planting dates, and modifying your approach to irrigation and planning can help you grow food despite less hospitable conditions. Don’t depend on nature to come through for you this year; plant a drought-resistant vegetable garden and be prepared if the rains don’t fall.

First Step: Planning

In drought-prone regions, the middle of summer is likely the worst time to attempt to grow vegetables. Capitalize on a warm climate by planting early in spring to harvest before the summer heat, or in early fall to harvest before winter sets in. Even if your region suffers from year-round lack of precipitation, planting in the more temperate seasons will prevent your garden from attempting to combat the heat and greater evaporation.

Seamazing: The Low-Cost Way To Re-mineralize Your Soil

In summer and winter, or any other times you choose not to plant, plan on amending your soil. Soil rich in compost will trap more moisture for your plants. You might consider a layer of charcoal beneath the soil, as well, to hold even more water and provide nutrients. Appropriate pH levels and soil nutrients help your plants grow more efficiently so they will be able to grow with less need for water.

Moisture Loss and Watering

Protect your improved soil from water runoff and moisture loss. Mulching is an excellent technique to help the area around your plantings catch rain; your mulch will also catch evaporating water from the soil below and condense it, keeping it available to your plants. If you have cuttings from other plants, mulching with them allows some of the moisture from those cuttings to go into the soil. Plastic sheets that cover the soil can also be an option, although you should be aware they raise the temperature of the soil.

Drip irrigation is particularly beneficial in dry areas, since the flow of water is fairly constant and extremely slow. If you plan a drip system, consider building it with water filters (to prevent clogging) and a valve or stop (to prevent water from dripping when the soil is already moist). If you choose another method of watering, pay attention to your soil and let it tell you when to water, rather than watering daily. Test a patch about 6 inches deep and control your irrigation, so you will have water when you need it. Pinch a bit of soil between your fingers. If it holds together, don’t water, but if it falls apart easily, it’s time to water.

When planning the drought-resistant garden, resist planting in rows. Clustering plants together leaves them less exposed to evaporation, and allows taller plants to provide shade to smaller plants. Grouping plants together by watering requirement can help you accurately prevent overwatering of those that don’t need much. Some vegetables do extremely well in companion planting, a technique that uses the growth habits of one type of plant to assist that of another; the most famous combination is the “three sisters” (beans, corn, and squash) but there are other combinations that work well. Regardless of what you choose to plant, growing vegetables closer together conserves water.

14 Drought-Resistant Vegetables To Plant If You Rarely Get Rain

Okra. Image source: Pixabay.com

Enclosed areas and raised beds are more moisture rich than seeding into open ground. Even a simple retaining wall built at a depth of about 10 inches can keep groundwater from leaving your garden. This technique works better in small spaces, or it can be used to break up a large space.

Best Vegetables for the Drought Resistant Garden

Some plants just do better with less water. Below you can find a partial list of what to grow for high yield in low-moisture environments. Generally speaking, plants native to the Southwest –such as black-eyed peas – will be easiest to grow, followed by plants with a deep root structure like squash, melon and some tomato varieties.

Get The Best Deals On Non-GMO Seeds For Your Garden Right Here!

Cool season plants with short root systems, like lettuce, will not thrive without water.

Best drought-resistant vegetables for hot climates

  1. Beans (all varieties, pole and dry beans)
  2. Cantaloupe
  3. Okra
  4. Cucumber
  5. Eggplant
  6. Melon
  7. Pepper (all varieties)
  8. Sweet Potato
  9. Tomatillo
  10. Jicama
  11. Sweet and Seed Corn
  12. Squash (Winter and Summer)
  13. Watermelon
  14. Tomato (try early producing or heat-resistant varieties like Early Girl, Roma, Marvel Striped)
14 Drought-Resistant Vegetables To Plant If You Rarely Get Rain

Meanwhile, here is a list of vegetables you might have success with in dry climates:

  1. Rhubarb
  2. Arugula
  3. Chard
  4. Turnips
  5. Potatoes
  6. Endive
  7. Garlic
  8. Leeks
  9. Cabbage
  10. Onions
  11. Spinach
  12. Asparagus
  13. Woody Herbs (Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Oregano)
  14. Beets
  15. Broccoli

If you live in a drought-prone area, the most important steps you can take to protect your garden and ensure it will yield the vegetables you need are steps to conserve and save water. Rain barrels, storage of grey water used around the homestead, and careful conservation measures to limit wastage all can contribute to helping your garden grow. If you want a reliable source of food in a dry climate, awareness of where the water is coming from – and where it is going – will be your most effective tool.

Is It Ever Safe To Eat Out Of Dented Cans? (And If So, When?)

Is It Ever Safe To Eat Out Of Dented Cans? (And If So, When?)

What do you do when you discover a can of food has a dent in it? If you are like most people, you return it to the supermarket shelf and select another can. But what if that can is marked at a tempting sale price because of the dent? Or what if that can is already on your pantry shelf?

Is it safe to eat food from a dented can? Well, the answer is yes and no. Yes, a dent can be a sign of danger in some cases, but no, not all dented cans are a problem.

The Quickest And Easiest Way To Store A Month’s Worth Of Emergency Food!

According to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Services, if a can of food has a small dent but otherwise appears sound, the contents should be safe to eat. However, there are five important warning signs to consider when deciding to keep a can or to discard it.

  1. If you notice a dent, try pushing on the top and the bottom of the can. If the top or bottom of the can moves or if you hear a popping sound, you should discard the can. The dent has broken the seal and air has entered the can, making the contents unsafe.
  2. Look for any signs of bulging or bloating in the can. The swelling is most likely caused by the gases from harmful bacteria growing inside the can. Do not open a bulging can because even breathing the fumes can be dangerous.
  3. Similarly, be mindful of any spraying when you open a can of food. A can that sprays or explodes when you open it probably contains bacteria.
  4. Examine the can for rust. Rust is a sign that the integrity of the can may be weak and that air may have penetrated the can’s interior.
  5. Consider the size and location of the dent. If it is along the seam of a can, it can be an indication that the can’s seal is broken. If the dent is deep, air could have entered the can.
Is It Ever Safe To Eat Out Of Dented Cans? (And If So, When?)

Air combined with moisture can allow microorganisms to grow in the can. These microorganisms may not be killed even if you heat the contents of the can.

Although it is rare, botulism, a deadly poison produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum (C. botulinum), can occur in canned goods. Botulism spores can survive in foods that are incorrectly processed or minimally processed.

Cooking food at high temperatures will kill the normal C. botulinum organism, but the spores are more difficult to destroy.

The World’s Healthiest Survival Food — And It Stores For YEARS and YEARS!

Symptoms of foodborne botulism poisoning begin anywhere between 12 and 36 hours after the consumption of the toxic food. Symptoms include muscle weakness, blurred vision, slurred speech, dry mouth and difficulty swallowing. The illness can be fatal if not treated early enough, and even people who are treated successfully can have lingering symptoms of fatigue and shortness of breath for many months afterward.

The good news is that there are only an average of 145 cases of botulism each year in the United States, and 15 percent of those cases are caused by foodborne bacteria, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here is a final word of advice when it comes to dented cans. If you discover a bulging can on your pantry shelf, put on disposable gloves and then place it in a sealable plastic bag.

Then place that bag in another plastic bag before placing it in your outside trash can – not with your recyclables. Do not pour the contents down the sink or the toilet. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water if you suspect you have handled a contaminated can.
